Telangana Fire Services on high alert as DG reviews monsoon preparedness

The Director General of Telangana Fire Services, Vikram Singh Mann, conducted a review of the department's readiness for the ongoing monsoon season on Thursday. Mann directed officials across the state to remain vigilant due to forecasts of heavy rainfall. During a virtual meeting with district fire officers and other ranks from all 33 districts, Mann evaluated the operational status of rescue teams, boats, dewatering pumps, communication devices and other emergency response equipment.

He emphasized the importance of districts likely to receive the most rainfall being fully prepared for immediate deployment. Mann also called for the integration of lessons from recent flood preparedness drills to bolster disaster response and improve inter-departmental coordination. He stressed the necessity of close collaboration between the fire services, district administration, police, revenue, municipal authorities, the State Disaster Response Force and the National Disaster Response Force.

Mann urged the officers to remain alert, monitor weather conditions closely, and take all necessary precautions to protect lives and property during the monsoon season.
