Support for the family of slain teacher Siyabonga Tshabalala

Gauteng Education MEC Lebogang Maile paid tribute to the family of slain teacher Siyabonga Tshabalala, who was murdered on his way to work. The incident has devastated the family, the education sector, and the Tsakane community. Maile emphasized that the department will stand by the family during this painful time, offering all necessary support.

The MEC and senior officials from the Gauteng Department of Education visited the family to outline psychosocial support services, including counseling and continuous assistance. The department remains committed to aiding the students, colleagues, and school community affected by Tshabalala's murder. At the Michael Zulu Primary School, support teams provide emotional guidance and trauma counseling.

Maile urged for peace and requested law enforcement to expedite the investigation, demanding that the perpetrators face justice. He also called upon communities to unite in ending violence and protecting those who serve students.
