Rollán amenaza a Marlaska, Robles y Albares con tomar medidas si no acuden al Senado a informar sobre la crisis de Ceuta

President of the Senate Pedro Rollán has sent a letter to the Interior, Defense, and Foreign Affairs ministers, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, Margarita Robles, and José Manuel Albares, warning them that their absence "without a justified cause" during the upcoming hearings on the Ceuta crisis, scheduled for the week of August 12-17, could lead to "appropriate measures by the Chamber bodies and the demand of the responsibilities that correspond in law."

The government has requested these three ministers, along with Justice Minister Félix Bolaños, to appear before the respective committees of Congress between August 25-28 to report on the mass immigration to Ceuta on July 30. The Executive claims these appearances were requested by the Popular Group in duplicate, both in Congress and the Senate, so the government decided to appear in Congress instead of the Senate for transparency and importance reasons.

However, Rollán claims the Senate first demanded the ministers' appearances and that the Constitution grants the control control to both chambers equally, without giving precedence to one over the other. Rollán states that the ministers cannot choose freely which chamber to appear before. Vicepresidents of Castilla y León, Extremadura, and Aragón, Carlos Pollán, Óscar Fernández, and Alejandro Nolasco, all from Vox, have sent a letter to Youth and Childhood Minister Sira Rego, informing her that their respective autonomous communities will not participate in the Sectorial Commission on Childhood and Adolescence meeting scheduled for August 13.

These vicepresidents are the only Vox members with competence over Childhood and Adolescence, as in the Andalusian Junta, where Vox governs in coalition with the PP, the responsibility lies with popular Loles López. The commission is expected to approve a 25 million euro budget for Ceuta to finance the care of more than 1,100 unaccompanied minors.

The vicepresidents assert that there is no other legal option than their return to Morocco, either for family reunification or delivery to the competent tutelary institution of that country, and announce they will challenge "in court all and every individual dossier that does not end with the return to Morocco" of the minors. It is worth noting that, although the letters are signed in their capacity as vicepresidents of their autonomous communities, the text of the three missives is identical and has been distributed by Vox.
