Official: Three killed in Russian strikes on Kyiv region

Three people, including a child, lost their lives in Russian strikes on Brovary district, northeast of Kyiv, a regional military official confirmed. The strikes, part of Moscow's increasing aggression against the Ukrainian capital, also resulted in three injuries and damaged property. Simultaneously, Kyiv braced for incoming ballistic missiles, with an air raid alert declared due to the threat.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky embarked on his first official visit to Serbia, aiming to strengthen relations and discuss security concerns with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. Despite Serbia's close ties to Russia, Vučić has steadfastly refused to sanction Moscow, a stance that has drawn criticism from the EU and hindered Belgrade's EU integration.

Zelensky's visit to Serbia marks a departure from his previous trips, as he has not visited the country since assuming office in 2019. The trip aimed to "pull the Serbs away from Russia's side," but Vučić remains resolute in his position. Zelensky, who has been seeking international support since Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, has not visited Serbia since becoming president.

Serbia, reliant on Russian gas and one of the few European nations maintaining ties with Moscow, has provided non-military aid to Kyiv, but has not formally declared support for Ukraine.
