Karnataka government is fully prepared to extend helping hands to distressed farmers in Raichur: Minister Ajay Dharam Singh

Karnataka's Minister Ajay Dharam Singh has affirmed that his government is fully equipped to assist farmers in Raichur who are experiencing crop losses due to severe drought conditions. During a recent visit to Ramadurga Cross in Gabbur Hobli, he underscored the dire situation in the district, noting that farmers had to replant their crops up to three times due to insufficient rainfall.

Despite these efforts, the crops ultimately withered, leaving the agricultural community in dire straits. The minister, accompanied by officials from various departments, is conducting ground inspections across all taluks to gauge the extent of the damage. They are finalizing a comprehensive report that will be presented to the Chief Minister.

Farmers have reportedly demanded a compensation of ₹50,000 per acre for their losses, and high-level consultations are underway to determine the most effective relief measures.
