Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo laid to rest

Ghanaian actress and businesswoman Beverly Afaglo Baah was laid to rest on Saturday, August 8, 2026, during funeral rites held at the State House forecourt in Accra. The ceremony, attended by family, friends, colleagues from the entertainment industry, and mourners, marked the final bid to say goodbye to the actress. Her husband, musician Choirmaster, joined the family in mourning alongside prominent figures from Ghana's entertainment scene, including Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah, John Dumelo, Roger Quartey, Sonnie Badu, Akuapem Poloo, Praye Tiatia, and his wife Selly Galley.

A song ministry by musician Sonnie Badu honored Beverly's legacy, while Van Vicker read a touching tribute from colleagues and friends. "You may be gone, but your works, the passion with which you achieved them, and the impact they have had on us will remain etched in our hearts," Vicker said. Beverly's husband expressed the deep pain of losing his wife, saying, "I cannot imagine facing tomorrow without you."

Their children also paid tribute, remembering the love and lessons their mother imparted. Beverly's career spanned film and television, with notable appearances in productions like Single Six, The Game, and Crime to Christ. She also built her culinary venture, Traffic Shawarma, into a successful business with multiple locations.

Her death in May 2026 after a two-year battle with cancer left the creative community in grief. A thanksgiving service will follow the funeral rites on Sunday, August 9, at Action Chapel International in Tema. Survivors include Beverly's husband, their daughters, mother, siblings, and other family members.
