Get a "new look" at Final Fantasy 7 Revelation at Gamescom's Opening Night Live

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will take center stage at Gamescom's Opening Night Live on August 25th, 2026. Square Enix announced the news on Twitter, revealing fans will get a "new look" at the game's unveiling during Geoff Keighley's annual showcase at 7pm BST. Director Naoki Hamaguchi will be present to present the segment, expressing confidence that this will be a significant presentation, not just a typical trailer drop.

Hamaguchi has previously emphasized that the main game will provide a conclusive end to the trilogy's story, dismissing any speculation about future DLC as an epilogue. Speaking to Automaton, Hamaguchi stated, "The story will be concluded within the main game... We're serious about concluding the series with Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, and we're proceeding with development with that goal in mind."

While the possibility of DLC exists, Hamaguchi hinted it might focus on a specific character's untold stories, similar to the approach taken for Yuffie in Final Fantasy 7 Episode Intermission. The final installment of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, is slated for release in spring 2027 across Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The game, along with its predecessors, has been selling exceptionally well since its Summer Game Fest 2026 reveal.
