BC Welfare Minister reviews condition of ailing Guntur hostel students

Andhra Pradesh's BC Welfare Minister S. Savitha assessed the health status of students residing at a BC Welfare Hostel in Guntur following the admission of three female students to the Government General Hospital (GGH) with mild health issues on Friday. She conversed with BC Welfare Department officials and the GGH Superintendent, G. Durga Prasad, via phone to gauge the situation.

Dr. Durga Prasad informed Ms. Savitha that the students were in a stable condition and that their ailment was due to the intake of iron tablets, not food poisoning. He stated that the students were receiving proper treatment and continued to be under medical observation. Ms. Savitha instructed the authorities to ensure the students received the best possible medical care under the guidance of doctors.

She also ordered BC Welfare officials to regularly monitor the health of the hostel inhabitants and arrange a specialized medical camp, if required. Furthermore, the Minister directed officials to serve freshly prepared food and provide boiled and chilled drinking water to the students, emphasizing the importance of maintaining hygiene and cleanliness around the hostel premises to avoid similar occurrences in the future.
