Aprilia's Martin extends championship lead with British GP sprint win

Aprilia s Jorge Martin extended his MotoGP championship lead with a dominant sprint win at the British Grand Prix on Saturday. The Spaniard started from pole position and converted it into a commanding 10-lap victory, finishing 10 seconds ahead of his teammate Marco Bezzecchi. His win moved Martin to 220 points in the championship standings, creating a 17-point gap between him and second-placed Ai Ogura.

Bezzecchi climbed to third place, just 27 points behind Martin. Marquez, however, saw his title aspirations suffer a significant setback after slipping from sixth on the grid to ninth at the finish line. He now trails Martin by 29 points ahead of Sunday's race. Aprilia locked out the podium in dominant fashion, with Bezzecchi overtaking reigning champion Marquez on lap five and pulling clear.
