Accra Premium Lions Club, Brooklyn District 20-K1 holds free health screening, support over 500 pupils with educational items at Obom

The Accra Premium Lions Club, in partnership with Lions Clubs International, Brooklyn District 20-K1, recently provided over 500 pupils at the Reverend Father Henry Roman Catholic Basic School in Obom with educational resources and free health screenings. This initiative, under the club’s "Touching Lives Through Service" program, aimed to enhance the educational development, health, and well-being of children in underserved communities.

The pupils received books, writing materials, footwear, and medicated lenses, alongside free health screenings and eye examinations. Lucy Gyata, the Immediate Past President of the Accra Premium Lions Club, emphasized the club’s motivation to support children in need, stating that every child deserves a conducive learning environment and access to basic healthcare.

The event included members of the club, Lions Clubs International, Brooklyn District 20-K1, and health professionals from the Greater Accra Regional Hospital and Empatcaiquo.

Reverend Father Paul Ebo Quarshie, on behalf of the school, expressed gratitude to the Lions Club for their support, noting that the donation and health intervention would significantly improve the lives and educational prospects of the pupils. Ormond Brathwaite, from Lions District 20-K1, affirmed the organization’s commitment to extending humanitarian activities to more communities, reaffirming their dedication to improving the well-being of children and vulnerable groups through sustainable projects.
