4 more die of measles, measles-like symptoms; death toll rises to 867

In the past 24 hours, an additional four individuals succumbed to measles and measles-like symptoms, further inflating the country's total count of measles-related fatalities to 867 for the year. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that two of these deaths were officially attributed to measles, while the remaining two were classified as suspected cases. Consequently, the tally of confirmed measles deaths has climbed to 98, and the number of suspected deaths has increased to 769.

During the same period, 677 new suspected measles cases were documented, elevating the overall count of suspected cases across the nation to 135,332. Simultaneously, 99 fresh confirmed measles instances were recorded, pushing the cumulative number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 17,040.

Since the beginning of March this year, a total of 117,444 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalized nationwide, with 113,200 having made a full recovery, according to data from the DGHS.
