Why Quillan Salkilld doesn't have a nickname

Quillan Salkilld, a rising star in the Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight division, has deliberately avoided adopting a nickname. Despite the common practice among fighters to have a moniker, Salkilld has chosen to compete under his own name. In a recent interview ahead of his first main event in the UFC, he expressed his desire for a nickname to be bestowed upon him, rather than choosing one himself.

Salkilld admitted that his name is already challenging to pronounce, making it difficult for him to adopt another. He mentioned that he had even suggested a few nicknames to his coach, but they were all joking and dismissed. Salkilld is set to face Mateusz Gamrot in his next fight at UFC Vegas 120 on August 8 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas.

With a record of 5-0 and four first-round finishes in the UFC since joining Dana White’s Contender Series, Salkilld is preparing to take on his biggest competition yet. As of now, Quillan Salkilld remains without an official nickname.
