Ukraine strikes Wildberries warehouse more than 2,000 kilometers inside Russia

Late on August 7, Ukrainian drones targeted a Wildberries warehouse situated in Yekaterinburg, a distance of over 2,000 kilometers within Russian territory. This strike resulted in a fire, prompting the evacuation of 800 warehouse personnel prior to the attack. Russian authorities, including Governor Denis Pasler of Sverdlovsk, issued warnings about the danger of drone activity in the region that night.

However, the specifics of the aftermath were not disclosed. The drone attack prompted the temporary restriction of takeoffs and landings at Koltsovo Airport, but these restrictions were lifted the following morning. Ukrainian monitoring channels provided visual evidence of the drone strike through footage, alongside photographs and videos depicting smoke emanating from the vicinity of the warehouse.

Despite the incident, no injuries were reported. Ukrainian President's envoy to the Urals Federal District, Artem Zhoga, confirmed the attack, stating that no one had been harmed during the operation. Wildberries, the merged company behind the targeted warehouse, announced that it had rerouted its deliveries to other facilities following the incident.
