Toby Alderweireld begs Tottenham to sign Eagles star

Former Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has called on his former club to sign Victor Osimhen, stressing the Nigerian striker's goal-scoring prowess can help address the club's need for a top player since Harry Kane's departure to Bayern Munich in 2023. Osimhen, Alderweireld claims, has consistently scored goals wherever he has played and can provide the much-needed goals for Tottenham.

The Belgian defender also highlighted that while other clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United might also benefit from Osimhen's goals, Tottenham needs his experience more at this point. Alderweireld, drawing from his own tenure at Ajax, suggested that combining experienced players with emerging talents can yield the best results.

The Belgian praised the Ajax team combination of seasoned and young players under his guidance. Alderweireld's support comes as Tottenham undergoes a significant squad overhaul under head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who has already signed Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke to bolster the midfield and defense. Currently, Tottenham fields Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as their primary attackers, but securing Osimhen would necessitate a formal approach and a substantial financial commitment as the transfer window progresses.
