Temperatures to reach 25 degrees as rain forecast for weekend

Ireland's weather will be predominantly dry as the weekend approaches, with temperatures soaring up to 25 degrees in certain areas, according to Met Éireann. Friday is expected to be mainly dry, featuring a mix of cloud and sunny intervals, although light showers may occur. The warmest temperatures will be recorded in Leinster, while the northwest will be the coolest.

Friday night will also be mostly dry, with clear skies predominating in Munster and Leinster, while clouds will gather over Connacht and Ulster, bringing patchy rain to the west and northwest.

Saturday will be marked by cloud cover and rain outbreaks, particularly in Connacht and Ulster, which will extend into Leinster towards the evening. However, much of Leinster and Munster will enjoy dry spells with bright or sunny intervals. The highest temperatures on Saturday are forecast to reach 16-20 degrees in Connacht and Ulster, and 20-25 degrees in Leinster and Munster.

Saturday night is anticipated to be mild and cloudy, with scattered rain showers mainly in Ulster, while the south of the country will have decent dry intervals.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain moving slowly south-eastwards, eventually clearing but remaining patchy. The warmest temperatures on Sunday will vary from 16 degrees in the northwest to 24 degrees in the southeast. As reported by Uisce Éireann, the national water conservation order remains in effect due to the ongoing high temperatures, making water usage conservation essential.

The organization also noted that Ireland experienced the driest July on record and the second-hottest summer since 1900, placing pressure on water sources, which may take some time to recover. Uisce Éireann urges customers to report any leaks and continues to monitor the situation in the coming weeks. Monday will be mainly dry, interspersed with cloud and sunny spells, with temperatures ranging from 17 to 22 degrees.
