Take all measures to stop mishaps on ORR; complete Kongara Kalan—Future City radial road by December 9: Telangana CM

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed grave concerns over the deteriorating condition and frequent accidents on the Outer Ring Road (ORR). He sternly warned authorities against negligence and immediately ordered them to take all necessary steps to prevent road mishaps. The issue was discussed extensively in a review meeting with senior officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL).

During the meeting held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, top officials were instructed to expedite the construction of the Radial Road 1, connecting Kongara Kalan to the Future City. This crucial radial road was to be completed by December 9. The officials were further directed to enhance the quality of construction, ensure the appropriate use of soil, address issues at the Badvel trumpet interchange, and oversee the progress of the elevated corridor III stretch between Banjara Hills and Shilpa Layout, as well as the elevated corridors I and II.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for a unified system integrating all aspects of road network development, including land acquisition, loans, and road maintenance. He specifically outlined that the Outer Ring Road, Regional Ring Road, city flyovers, underpasses, and other roads would be managed under this new system. In relation to the implementation of Transferable Development Rights (TDR), the Chief Minister provided detailed instructions, emphasizing that TDR should only be issued for lands acquired by the government and that the process should be digitized.

The meeting saw the presence of MAUD Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary to the Chief Minister Manik Raj, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, Ranga Reddy Collector Narayana Reddy, and other senior officials.
