Nicole Kidman delivers message to former school on 150th anniversary

Lane Cove Public School celebrated its 150th anniversary with an open day on Friday, inviting former students and teachers to return to the school grounds. Academy Award-winner Nicole Kidman, a former alumna, sent a message from Santorini, Greece, which was played during the assembly. Kidman expressed her gratitude for attending such a great school and recalled the friends she made during her time there.

Former teachers and alumni, including Channel Nine presenter Peter Overton, attended the event and reminisced about their happy memories at the school. Overton, who was a school captain in 1977, praised Kidman for her desire to attend the celebrations and congratulated the school on its 150 years. Meredith Lucas, one of Kidman's classmates, shared her fond memories of the close-knit school community, highlighting Kidman's talent, hard work, and success.

Lane Cove Public School principal Terry McKinnon expressed pride in both current and former students, including Kidman, and was grateful for her message arriving in time for the birthday celebrations. The school, established in 1876, prides itself on its creative arts and music programs.
