Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls suffers from widespread PC issues at launch

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launched to mixed reviews, with console players enjoying the 4v4 tag fighting experience, but PC users have been plagued by numerous technical issues. On Steam, the game holds a mixed user rating, with most negative feedback centering around technical problems. While some users find the game functional, others with above-average hardware struggle to launch it.

Lameme14, a Steam user, expressed their disappointment, stating they couldn't recommend the game due to the inability to launch it, attributing the difficulty to glitches with the anti-cheat system.

After extensive troubleshooting, including leaving a black screen for half an hour, the game eventually loaded, but performance remained poor with constant stuttering. Vestige, another user, criticized the lack of Linux support, noting that other non-Riot fighting games and Sony-published titles have successfully run on Linux. Additionally, the game fails to run on SteamOS without significant workarounds. The Steam Machine can run the game, but a Windows boot drive is necessary.

Stuttering issues have led to a noticeable impact on gameplay, especially in online matches, as rollback netcode adjusts fights to ensure both players experience the same outcome. Even functional setups can be affected by online players experiencing stuttering. Developers have acknowledged the technical problems and are investigating the issues.

In the meantime, players attempt various fixes, with some console users opting to disable crossplay with PC. Despite the open beta's initial positive reception, even that has faced a PSN outage.
