Man killed in suspected dog attack may have been an intruder, police say

A 23-year-old man succumbed to injuries sustained in a suspected dog attack in Sydney's south-west, raising doubts about his connection to the property. Police are probing whether the victim was an intruder. The body of the man was discovered with grave injuries at a rural property on Badgally Road in Eschol Park near Campbelltown around noon on Wednesday.

Initial reports suggest the man likely endured a dog attack prior to his demise. The exact reason behind his presence at the location remains uncertain and is under investigation, with NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon emphasizing that the man was not a resident of the premises. A total of several dogs have been seized from the property and are currently in the custody of the council's animal care facility.

Campbelltown City Council is collaborating with police in their inquiries, supporting the investigation and aiding in determining the registration and ownership status of the dogs. If the investigation concludes that the animals were responsible for the fatal injuries, the animals may be euthanized. The attack transpired at a unique property known as Saturn's Rings, which comprises three concentric circular buildings with panoramic views of the countryside.

The property, built by a Polish immigrant in the late 1970s and 80s, was never fully completed and was intended to serve as a hub for a global movement towards a better life on Earth. A crime scene has been established, and a report will be submitted to the coroner.
