During the launch, Sanjeev Kumar Singh, a Senior Scientist from KVK-ICAR's Phek centre, announced plans for the inmates to cultivate red cauliflower within the jail premises and further training in handicrafts such as cane stools and furniture. Training sessions will progress to include vermicomposting in the second phase.
The initiative will also include a marketing plan, with products created by the inmates sold in Kohima and Dimapur markets, profits to be shared among inmates and deposited into their bank accounts.
