LG Koo, Nvidia Huang Set Silicon Valley Meeting

LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang are preparing to meet in Silicon Valley, following a promise made six months ago in Seoul. This gathering is anticipated to mark a significant milestone, elevating their partnership and accelerating their joint efforts in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. According to sources on August 6, Koo will travel to Nvidia's headquarters in the United States the following week for a private meeting with Huang.

The two executives had initially met at the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, in early June, where they reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration across future industries. At this initial meeting, Huang forecasted that future data centers could expand to a gigawatt (GW) scale, greatly valuing LG's technical strengths in cooling systems, power supply, and overall design.

Koo also supported the idea of cooperation to hasten the AI era, agreeing to Huang's invitation to California for more in-depth consultations. Their collaboration is already yielding practical results. Nvidia has officially designated LG Electronics as a key partner using its physical AI development platform, 'Cosmos', at 'Computex 2026', the largest Asia-based information and communication technology exhibition.

Cosmos 3 is recognized as the world's first open omni-model, capable of recognizing and generating text, images, video, and even physical actions. Currently, LG Group and Nvidia are establishing a unified approach across various sectors, spanning robotics systems to the design of smart factories and AI data centers. Experts believe the synergy between LG's home appliance and manufacturing expertise, combined with Nvidia's computing capabilities, could result in substantial advancements in industrial robots and autonomous driving.

The business community is eagerly anticipating whether the two companies will announce a concrete business roadmap or plans for joint projects during this Silicon Valley meeting. Given that the executives are convening at a strategic location to assert leadership within the global AI ecosystem, there is a strong likelihood that this meeting will produce tangible, collaborative outcomes that surpass mere technological exchange.
