Larry Fitzgerald Refuses to Announce Retirement, Despite Entering Hall of Fame

Legendary wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, despite not yet announcing his retirement. Fitzgerald, a 17-year veteran with the Arizona Cardinals, has amassed an impressive 17,492 career receiving yards and 1,432 total receptions, both second-most all-time. He also scored 121 receiving touchdowns, ranking sixth in NFL history.

Fitzgerald earned 11 Pro Bowl selections and two All-Pro honors during his tenure with the Cardinals. He has nine 1,000-yard seasons and twice led the league in receptions and receiving touchdowns. Despite his exemplary career, Fitzgerald has not officially stated his retirement plans. In an interview ahead of the Hall of Fame Game between the Cardinals and Panthers, he expressed his belief in the concept of retirement, stating that he doesn't believe in retiring and prefers to transition into different phases of his career.

Fitzgerald's grandfather and a longtime friend had conversations about retirement that have influenced his perspective, but he maintains that he won't acknowledge retirement.
