Housing purchases in June put an end to five months of declines, growing by 1.6%

The Spanish real estate market has closed the first half of the year with a turnaround after several months of slowdown. After five consecutive months of year-on-year declines in the buying and selling of homes, June has brought the sector back into positive territory with a slight increase of 1.6% compared to the same month of the previous year.

This progress puts an end to the trend with which the year began and raises the accumulated volume for the half-year to around 348,000 transactions. Although activity remains below the highs reached last year, the market maintains a very high level and consolidates 2026 as the second year with the largest volume of transactions in the last decade at this point in the year.
