Gunman among 2 dead in Thailand school shooting

On Friday, a gunman opened fire at a school in Thailand, resulting in at least one teacher's death and four others being injured, according to authorities. The perpetrator, identified as a student, has now died from the attack. The incident occurred in the Bang Kruai district of Nonthaburi province, situated north of Bangkok. Lieutenant Colonel Dechrapee Kongdee of the police confirmed the casualties to Reuters, stating that the suspected gunman is among the deceased.

Among those injured were a teacher and three students. Photos shared by emergency workers depicted students exiting the Debsirin Nonthaburi School, with one individual lying on a stretcher outside an ambulance, while another received medical attention. The school, which is located on the northern outskirts of Bangkok, typically enrolls around 3,100 students and 147 teachers in the 2025 academic year, as reported by district authorities.

In February of this year, a similar incident took place in southern Thailand's Hat Yai district, where a teacher was killed and a student injured after a gunman opened fire at a school.
