GMA, Japan Motors Launch 16th Corporate Run and Walk to Support Persons with Visual Impairment

The 16th annual Corporate Run and Walk, organized by Global Media Alliance (GMA) in partnership with Japan Motors, is scheduled for September 21, 2026. This event, held in honor of Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, spans across four regions of Ghana – Greater Accra, Ashanti, Western, and Northern Regions. The goal of this five-kilometre race is to promote workplace wellness while supporting individuals living with visual impairment.

In its sixteen years, the event has transformed into an initiative that demonstrates how businesses can unite to improve lives and support a meaningful cause.

Ernest Boateng, the CEO of Global Media Alliance, highlighted that 25% of the event's proceeds will be donated to the Ghana Blind Union, further emphasizing the importance of assisting persons with visual impairment. The Executive Director of Lakeside Estate and Silver Star Tower, Salah Kwaku Kalmoni, stressed that the event has consistently prioritized social impact over competition, referring to it as a "race of impact".

This year's proceeds will be used to provide tandem bicycles and other mobility aids to enhance the independence and mobility of visually-impaired individuals.

Mabel Offei, Marketing Manager of Japan Motors, reaffirmed the company's commitment to the initiative, stating that it aligns with their belief in giving back to society. The event is open to both corporate institutions and individuals, with a registration fee of GH¢100. Registration forms can be obtained from various locations, including Silver Star Towers offices, Global Media Alliance offices, or online.
