Boro and Wrexham aim to be competitive again

Parkinson acknowledges the demands of the league and believes Middlesbrough's strategy mirrors that of their rivals. Their first encounter in the EFL Cup tonight at the Riverside Stadium will be against Wrexham, who drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough during the previous season's campaign. Wrexham midfielder George Thomason, despite Middlesbrough's reputation as a possession-based team, remains confident in his team's ability to challenge the Boro.

Thomason's assertion is that both teams have previously demonstrated they can deliver a tight, competitive game, and he anticipates a similar outcome in their upcoming fixture.
