Policing authorities in Alor Setar, Kedah, reported a tragic incident on Tuesday night, where two suspects were killed in an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement officers. According to M Kumar, the head of the Criminal Investigation Department's (CID) Bukit Aman, the victims, a 70-year-old foreign man and a 30-year-old foreign woman, were found alive with their eyes covered and hands bound inside a house in Taman Amira, Telaga Bata.

The incident occurred at around 8:40 pm when a team from the Special Investigation Division (D9) of Bukit Aman stormed the house to rescue the two victims. During the operation, the suspects fired a few shots at the police, forcing them to return the fire to ensure their safety. "Both suspects were pronounced dead by medical teams at 9:30 pm, and no identification documents were found on either suspect," Kumar stated in a report.

The victims, a 70-year-old foreign man and a 30-year-old foreign woman, were found alive with their eyes covered and hands bound. Kumar mentioned that two semi-automatic pistols of the Baretta type containing five bullets and a revolver with four bullets, along with a long knife, were found near the suspects. Following the incident, police conducted multiple raids in various locations across Kedah, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur.

A total of six individuals were arrested, including one local man, four foreign men, and one foreign woman aged between 20 to 40.

A search warrant under Section 12 of the Penal Code 1961 will be issued, and police request the public to refrain from making speculations or comments that may interfere with the ongoing investigation or manipulate facts for the purpose of incriminating the public.
