Yilo Krobo SHS secures NSMQ national slot after dramatic comeback win over Aburi Presby SHTS

Yilo Krobo Senior High School has earned a spot in the National Championship of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) following a thrilling comeback victory over Aburi Presby SHTS in the Eastern Regional qualifiers. The intense match between the two schools saw them tied at the top of the scoreboard, with Aburi Presby SHTS briefly leading with 34 points, while Yilo Krobo SHS trailed by 3 points, having scored 31.

With both teams standing apart from the rest, Yilo Krobo SHS mounted a strong comeback in the subsequent round, elevating their score to 47, while Aburi Presby SHTS remained at 44 points, setting the stage for a tense final round. The resilient school maintained their composure throughout the contest, extending their lead in the closing round and ultimately finishing with 53 points to secure their qualification for the National Championship.

Aburi Presby SHTS concluded the contest with 47 points, but their commendable performance has opened doors for them to progress as one of the top 30 runner-up schools. The other schools in the final standings included Presby SHS with 26 points, Kraboa-Coaltar with 14 points, and Akroso SHTS with 14 points.
