'We are not enemies': Rijiju meets Rahul again to break Parliament logjam

Union minister Kiren Rijiju held a productive conversation with Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, aiming to overcome the ongoing logjam in Parliament. During their meeting, Rijiju requested specific action and also discussed other matters. Both parties emphasized the importance of continuous communication and coordinated efforts in the national interest, despite their political differences.

Rijiju addressed concerns that the opposition may want to prevent Parliament from functioning, but ultimately, it is the nation that suffers. He also commented on the opposition's demand for a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the Delhi Police's actions against student protesters during their march to Parliament on July 20.

The Home Minister has been present in the House continuously throughout the day, working on bills. The meeting also touched upon the possibility of reintroducing the Delimitation and Women's Reservation Bills, but the Congress leader did not commit to any action. During their discussion, Rahul Gandhi informed Rijiju about his expectations from the House, which included a statement by Amit Shah on the Delhi Police issue and a resolution on the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple.

The Monsoon Session is set to end on August 13, and the government denied reports of a three-day special session scheduled from August 16 to 18 to address the Women's Reservation and Delimitation Bills.
