Nod for Rahul’s U.P. meet revoked; Cong. says event still on

The Congress party has maintained its commitment to the 'Chhatraon Ki Goonj' interaction between students and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, despite the Uttar Pradesh government's intervention and the Kayastha Pathshala (KP) Trust's revocation of the venue permission. Despite these obstacles, the party is determined to proceed with the event on August 8 in Prayagraj, according to Ajay Rai, the Uttar Pradesh Congress president.

Rai emphasized that the BJP government's attempts to prevent this historic dialogue are futile, as they have failed in Kota, Dehradun, and now Prayagraj. The Congress party had received permission for the event on July 31, and the fee of ₹51,000 had been paid. The KP Trust's decision followed an Allahabad High Court order dated August 14, 2025, which restricted the ground's usage to sports and educational activities.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi expressed his resolve in a social media post, criticizing the administration for filing FIRs against students protesting fee hikes and seat cuts. He vowed to raise the voice of the students, irrespective of the government's efforts to hinder him.
