Mitch McConnell says he's been discharged from rehab

Republican Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell announced on Thursday that he had been discharged from a rehabilitation center, nearly two months after his hospitalization. In a statement, he expressed his intention to continue his recovery at home, under the guidance of his doctors. McConnell did not specify when he would return to Capitol Hill.

His staff provided minimal information about his health condition following his admission to the hospital, which fueled speculation about his situation. Initially, McConnell revealed that a fall was the cause of his hospitalization on July 12. His doctors affirmed that he did not suffer any bone fractures, concussion, heart attack, stroke, tumors, or hemorrhages.

However, he experienced a brief period of unconsciousness and was admitted for treatment. The Office of the Attending Physician also confirmed minor injuries to McConnell, but stated that he had no fractures, cardiac abnormalities, stroke, tumor, or hemorrhage. On July 27, another statement from the attending physician's office revealed that McConnell had been moved into rehabilitation care and was following a rigorous physical therapy regimen to minimize the risk of falls. The statement noted that McConnell's history of childhood polio continues to affect his mobility.
