Israel may suffer from same missile shortage as US, giving Iran leverage, fmr. Navy head Marom says

Former Israeli Navy commander Maj.-Gen. (res.) Eliezer Marom claimed on Wednesday's 103FM interview that Israel is facing a similar interceptor shortage as the United States. He stated, "When it comes to Arrow missiles, we have fewer than we would like, and production capacity is very limited." As a result, many interceptions have been carried out by THAAD systems and SM-3 missiles launched from U.S. Navy ships.

Marom emphasized, "We are only fighting Iran. What happens tomorrow morning if we have to fight China, should it decide to invade Taiwan? That would be an entirely different war. This issue requires a thorough investigation." Additionally, Marom expressed concern that Israel might have to strike Iran on its own due to Washington's unwillingness to act while Tehran takes advantage of the delay to advance its nuclear and missile programs.

He also highlighted reports of a severe munitions shortage in the U.S. military, noting that the Americans are reluctant to strike due to munitions and interceptor shortages. Marom further pointed out that the U.S. strategy is to reach the elections with low fuel prices, making nuclear issues, missiles, and Iran's proxies secondary concerns.

Iran, on the other hand, aims to reach an understanding over the Strait of Hormuz and dismantle the Abraham Accords, ultimately pushing matters to the edge. Marom suggested that Israel should focus on negotiating with Lebanon, avoid allowing those negotiations to fall apart, and be prepared for a potential strike, as Iran advances in nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities.
