Google Wallet now lets kids tap to pay without giving up parental control

Google Wallet, the digital payment platform, has introduced a new feature that allows parents to supervise their children's spending habits and provide them with a controlled means of making digital payments. This new service is now available for kids and teens under 18 in the United States. Through this feature, parents can set daily spending limits for their children, enabling them to learn responsible money management without the risk of overspending.

Parents also have the ability to view transaction history, receive purchase alerts for any activity related to their child's Google Wallet, and even remotely lock the Wallet in case the device containing the Wallet gets lost. This feature aims to solve the common problem of finding practical solutions for giving kids money for various purposes.

Traditionally, parents have had to rely on cash, which can easily be lost or forgotten, or cards that might go missing, making it difficult to track spending. With the new supervised Google Wallet balances, parents can better guide their children in managing their own money, offering a more controlled and responsible approach to introducing them to financial independence.
