GCC visitors hail Qatar’s rise as a premier family tourism destination

Visitors from across the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) have lauded Qatar's impressive tourism growth, hailing it as one of the region’s premier family travel destinations. This praise stems from Qatar's top-tier infrastructure, year-round events calendar, and diverse mix of cultural, leisure, and entertainment experiences. During a visit to Souq Waqif, multiple GCC tourists expressed their enthusiasm for Qatar's ongoing investments in tourism and urban development, particularly following the successful FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Saudi visitor Mohammed al-Juhaimi highlighted Qatar's well-rounded appeal, noting the blend of traditional markets, beaches, shopping centers, and cultural landmarks. He described Qatar as a unique combination of authenticity and modern living, with places like Souq Waqif and Katara Cultural Village showcasing the country's heritage and identity. Al-Juhaimi urged Gulf visitors to experience Qatar's hospitality and explore its rich cultural traditions.

Fellow Saudi Mohammed Fahd al-Ajabi emphasized Qatar's safety, making it an ideal family holiday destination. Despite extensive travel, he maintained that Qatar remains his top choice, with Old Doha Port, Katara Cultural Village, The Pearl-Qatar, and Souq Waqif being frequent stops. Al-Ajabi added that Qatar's appeal now extends beyond peak travel seasons, offering engaging experiences year-round.

Another Saudi visitor, Nawfal al-Qahtani, commended the country's modern infrastructure, citing the recent enhancements in hotels, public facilities, and shopping destinations. Al-Qahtani highlighted attractions such as Lusail, Old Doha Port, and Souq Waqif, along with a diverse range of festivals and cultural events catering to all ages.

Adel al-Shehri from Oman praised Qatar's growing popularity, attributing it to the country's international sporting, cultural, and entertainment events, as well as activities like desert safaris and water sports. His compatriot Ali al-Ghamlasi attributed Qatar's rising popularity to its strategic location, easy access, and continuously evolving tourism offerings, noting that each visit reveals new aspects to discover.

Saudi visitor Meshaal Hamad al-Marri also commended Qatar's impressive development since his last visit, highlighting destinations including Lusail Boulevard, Msheireb Downtown Doha, Souq Waqif, Katara Cultural Village, and Al Safliya Island. He emphasized Qatar's renowned hospitality, combined with its diverse attractions and world-class facilities, which continue to solidify its status as one of the Gulf's most attractive destinations for family tourism.
