Eight wounded in Israeli attack on southern Lebanon's Burj Shemali as talks enter third day

Eight individuals have sustained injuries following an Israeli assault on Burj Shemali, a southern Lebanese town, according to the nation's health ministry. Simultaneously, reports surfaced of intensified strikes in Tyre, a city in southern Lebanon, with state media describing the situation as a "wide-scale aggression." As a consequence of these attacks across multiple locations within Tyre, four individuals were injured, subsequently transported to local hospitals. The displaced inhabitants of these regions were also among those affected.

These recent strikes coincide with the commencement of the Lebanese-Israeli peace discussions in Rome, marking the seventh iteration of US-mediated negotiations. The Lebanese representatives are persistently advocating for an end to the Israeli bombardment and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from approximately sixty villages and towns that have been occupied during this aggressive campaign, which commenced in March.

Concurrently, the Israeli side is insisting on the Lebanese army dismantling Hezbollah's military installations.
