Brazil gears up for FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar

São Paulo – From August 13 to 23, the Brazil Men’s Under-17 National Team will train at Granja Comary, the Brazilian national teams’ facility in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro state, in preparation for the FIFA U-17 World Cup taking place in Qatar from November 19 to December 13. Head coach Carlos Eduardo Patetuci has selected 25 players for the tournament. Brazil will face Venezuela in two friendly matches during the camp on August 20 and 23.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup will involve 48 teams competing at the Aspire Zone complex in Al Rayyan, near Doha, Qatar. Alongside Qatar, the Arab nations of Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Egypt, and Morocco are participating. Brazil has been placed in Group I with Ireland, Tanzania, and Costa Rica, while Qatar's group is Group A, comprising Egypt, Panama, and Greece.

Other groupings include Saudi Arabia in Group D with France, Haiti, and Uruguay, Algeria in Group J with the United States, Montenegro, and Chile, and Morocco in Group H with Spain, China, and Fiji.

Portugal emerged victorious as the defending champion of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2025, marking their first win in the tournament. Brazil has claimed the title four times before, in 1997, 1999, 2003, and 2019. Among the Arab teams, Saudi Arabia is the only one to have won the FIFA U-17 World Cup, achieving the feat in 1989.
