Birmingham sign striker Effa Effa for £100K

Birmingham City has signed 19-year-old French striker Chancelle Effa Effa from Le Havre for a reported £100,000. The young forward, who has represented France in every youth age group from U16s to U23s, progressed from Le Havre's academy and made her senior debut at the age of 15. Effa Effa played a crucial role in helping Le Havre secure promotion back to the French top flight during her breakthrough season.

She signed a professional contract with Le Havre in December 2022, with one year remaining on her existing deal. Effa Effa expressed her excitement about joining Birmingham City, a historic club, and the Women's Super League. She praised the club's ambition and development plans, stating that she can't wait to start this new adventure.

Birmingham City manager Amy Merricks commended Effa Effa's potential and experience, believing she will make a significant impact in a Blues shirt. The club also appointed Mark Beard as assistant head coach and Ben Chapman as goalkeeping coach, both of whom have extensive coaching experience in the women's game.
