Atiq Ahmed's son killed in car crash in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi

In a tragic car accident in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, Atiq Ahmed's son Abaan lost his life on Thursday when his speeding vehicle collided with a road divider. His friend Sonu also perished in the incident, according to Jhansi SSP BBGTS Murthy. The collision unfolded around 10:30 am on the Kanpur-Jhansi road in Poonch, as police had received information of an SUV veering off control and crashing into the divider.

Three other passengers were injured and taken to a medical college for treatment, with one passenger alleging the vehicle was moving at a dangerously high speed before the crash.

Aban was the youngest of Atiq Ahmed's five sons and the twin brother of Ahjam. His elder brothers, Umar and Ali, are currently incarcerated in separate jails in Uttar Pradesh. The accident occurred amidst a series of violent incidents involving members of Atiq Ahmed's family, including the deaths of his other son Asad Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, and Atiq himself.

Asad was killed in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on April 13, 2023, following a Rs 5 lakh bounty placed on his head for his alleged involvement in the murder of lawyer Umesh Pal in 2005. Two days later, Atiq and his brother Ashraf were also killed in Prayagraj while being taken for a medical examination, allegedly by attackers posing as media personnel.
