Team K League goalkeeper savors 'fun, happy' day on pitch vs. Man City

In a friendly match on Wednesday, reserve goalkeeper Gu Sung-yun of Team K League made headlines during a loss to Manchester City. The Korean League team suffered a 3-1 defeat at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Seoul. All three Manchester City goals were scored in the first half by Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors goalkeeper Song Bum-keun.

Gu replaced Song to start the second half and made several key saves, preventing Manchester City from scoring a second goal. Jeremy Monga managed to beat Gu with a goal in the 74th minute, but it was disallowed due to a handball violation by a Man City midfielder. Throughout the game, Gu expressed his joy at facing world-class players and his surprise at their speed.

He also noted that even as reserves, the Manchester City players were incredibly fast and their shots were rapid. Gu admitted he might prefer facing first-team players, but he was content with his performance and the experience. Team K League's head coach, Chung Jung-yong, praised Gu's effort and suggested the 32-year-old might consider playing overseas.

While Kim Dae-won scored the only goal for Team K League, he expressed his pride in beating the world-renowned goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is often regarded as one of the best in the world.
