Pixel Watch 5 leaked marketing images surface one week before launch

Marketing images for Google's upcoming Pixel Watch 5 have surfaced online, offering a closer look at the device's specifications and features. The leak, obtained by MyMobiles, reveals the full spec sheet alongside the images, generating speculation about which processor the smartwatch will employ.

According to the leak, the Pixel Watch 5 may either utilize the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 "accelerated" chip or the same one found in the Pixel Watch 4. The spec sheet confirms the presence of a Cortex-M55 processor. The watch will retain its 64GB storage capacity, likely necessary to accommodate enhanced Gemini functionalities. While RAM details remain undisclosed, earlier leaks suggest a RAM increase from 2GB to 3GB.

The marketing material emphasizes several anticipated features, including proactive suggestions and context-aware replies based on conversations. For instance, the images depict Google Wallet suggesting a boarding pass and retrieving contact information in response to a text message. Additionally, Google aims to enhance the Pixel Watch 5's health features.

A wellness image showcases pulse detection with automatic SOS activation, and a visual representation highlights Google's claim of delivering "the most accurate sleep tracking yet."

This integration of health features is further emphasized by the morning insights feature, which functions as a health-focused version of the daily brief displayed on Pixel phones. The leaked spec list introduces a couple of notable changes compared to the Pixel Watch 4. The battery capacity has been expanded to 332mAh for the 41mm version and 465mAh for the 45mm variant, aligning with expectations.

However, the overall battery life remains consistent across versions, potentially indicating that the new processor draws more power. This development is not surprising, as Google strives to bolster Gemini capabilities with each successive release.

The leaked marketing images also showcase the Pixel Watch 5 bands, revealing that they will be the second-generation sport bracelets. Constructed from a different rubber compound—hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene rubber (HNBR)—these bands appear similar to the previous fluoroelastomer version but offer enhanced comfort. The leaked images corroborate previous reports regarding the available colors and pricing.

Four color options will be offered: Natural Silver, Dark Anthracite, Warm Gold, and Pyrite. The Warm Gold variant will be exclusive to the 41mm version. The smaller 41mm iteration will launch at $399, while the larger 45mm version will start at $429. Google plans to unveil the Pixel Watch 5 alongside its Pixel 11 devices during the Made by Google event on August 12.
