Here are the latest updates from the region: US President Donald Trump claimed that the US is having favorable talks with Iran, asserting Iran's interest in signing a deal. However, Trump warned that Iran could face severe repercussions if the Strait of Hormuz isn't reopened promptly. The US, Iran, and Oman are reportedly nearing an interim agreement to reopen the vital waterway and resume the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran, according to Axios.

The accord's announcement could come as early as Wednesday. An Iranian official attributed the delay in finalizing the deal with Oman to US interference and Trump's intimidating statements. Iran firmly stated that it would not compromise on any agreement under threat. The US has not been providing Israel with direct briefings on its discussions with Iran, resulting in Tel Aviv receiving much of the information indirectly.

An Israeli official expressed skepticism about Trump's approach regarding Iran. Israel's air force recently conducted a bombing in the southern Lebanese town of Haddatha, in Bint Jbeil district. This attack is among many deemed as Israeli breaches of ongoing ceasefire negotiations between the two countries.
