Jacques Greene Announces New Album jg: Hear “Presence”

Canadian electronic artist Jacques Greene has unveiled plans for his upcoming album, jg. This marks Greene's return to the scene after collaborating with Nosaj Thing under the Verses GT moniker last year. The new project showcases a stripped-down, intense collection of tracks, devoid of excessive filters and reverb effects. Greene explains that the album is a more direct expression of his musical identity, represented by the initials "jg."

Sharing more about his creative process, Greene adds that this record feels more grounded within the club environment compared to his previous releases. He describes it as "me, it's jg," and goes on to paint a vivid picture of the album's sonic atmosphere, likening it to the immersive experience of being inside a club: "it's me, it's jg.

On Instagram, he adds, 'if my other two records were impressionist music ~about~ the club, this one feels more firmly planted inside it, colliding against bodies, taste of fog machine juice on your tongue, strobes hitting your eyelids.'

The new single, "Presence," is set to drop today, followed by the previously released tracks "What You Say" featuring umru and "Closer" with DJ Boring. Fans can also look forward to "Closer" featuring umru, "Seconds" with Ouri and Jonah Yano, "Two" featuring SAM-E, "Everyone" with SEES00000, "Time To Go" by CFCF, "What You Say" again featuring umru, "Breathe" with crushed, "Waiting" with Sølv, and "Halation." "Slowly" rounds out the album's lineup.
