It’s 2026, and I still can’t trust Google’s Pixel phones

For years, I have been a loyal user of Google's Pixel phones, so revealing my current doubts may seem peculiar. Nonetheless, I must confess that I no longer fully trust these devices in 2026. This lack of trust does not stem from any shortcomings in the Pixel's performance, as the software remains top-notch and features like Gemini, Magic Eraser, Best Take, and Call Notes have become indispensable in my daily routine.

However, despite Google's advancements in AI and their clean take on Android, there are still certain aspects that leave me skeptical about the reliability of Pixels as my sole smartphone. The issue lies deeper than mere technological advancements or software capabilities; it revolves around the fundamental need for a dependable device in crucial areas, and despite Google's efforts, Pixels have yet to meet that standard of trust for me.
