Ibu tunggal, jurujual didakwa kemuka tuntutan palsu Daya Kerjaya 2.0

Shareen Noordin David Noordin, a 53-year-old single mother, faced charges in Ipoh Sessions Court today for allegedly submitting false statements in claims under the Welfare Development Scheme 2.0 (Perkeso). The 53-year-old admits to no guilt in relation to all 16 charges brought against her before Judge Ainul Shahrin Mohamad, according to Sinar Harian.

She is accused of nine charges as the owner of Super Clean Solution for providing Perkeso employment form documents containing false statements to deceive the principal. The allegations are said to have occurred at the company premises in No. 51, Lorong Chengal, Taman Sunlight between March 31 and September 4, 2024. In the remaining seven charges, she is accused of conspiring with Neoh Wooi Lee, 49, the owner of Century Super Solution, to submit the same false documents to a Perkeso employment representative for the Perkeso 2.0 incentive claim.

This act is alleged to have taken place at the same address between May 26 and August 26, 2024. Wooi Lee is also charged with nine counts for allegedly aiding and abetting Shareen Noordin in submitting false documents involving Super Clean Solution between March 31 and September 4, 2024. For joint offenses, both defendants are charged under Section 18 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Law (SPRM) 2009 in conjunction with Section 34 of the Penal Code, carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years' imprisonment and a fine of up to five times the value of the false representation, or whichever is higher.

Shareen is charged under Section 18 of the SPRM 2009, while Wooi Lee is charged under Section 28(1)(c) of the same law, read in conjunction with Section 18 of the SPRM 2009, which carries a similar maximum sentence. SPMA officer Nanthini Gunasegaran controlled the prosecution, Shareen Noordin was not represented by a lawyer, while Wooi Lee was represented by Sheshalini Ramesh.

Nanthini had proposed a RM4,000 bond for each charge, except for the requirement that both defendants personally appear at PermaSPMA offices nearby each month. Sheshalini requested a minimum bond for her daughter, citing the defendant's mental health issues and her ongoing care of her child with a disability, as well as Shareen Noordin's need to care for her disabled child.

The court granted both defendants a RM8,000 bond each with one surety. The matter was scheduled to be heard again on September 10.
