How to check 2026 WAEC results online

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has published the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination outcomes and explained how candidates can access their grades online. On Wednesday, WAEC announced via its official X account that candidates can now check their results online, after creating or restoring their result checker PIN. This guide provides a step-by-step process to help you verify your results.

First, obtain your Serial Number and PIN. If you haven't received these, you can recover them by visiting the WAEC website, selecting the 2026 examination year, entering your examination number and National Identification Number (NIN), and receiving a One-Time Password (OTP) to your email and phone. After receiving the OTP, you can download your WAEC ID card to your mobile device through the portal.

Next, access the WAEC result portal by visiting waecdirect.org using any device with internet connectivity. Once on the portal, input your 10-digit examination number, which combines your 7-digit centre number and 3-digit candidate number (e.g., 4123456789). Choose the 2026 examination year, select the relevant examination type, and input your Serial Number and PIN. Upon submission, your result will display on the screen, where you can print or save it for future reference.

For those who prefer mobile convenience, the WAEC Result Checker app is available on Google Play Store. After downloading the app, open it, enter your examination number, select the examination year, input your Serial Number and PIN, and submit to view and save your results.

Alternatively, candidates without internet access can receive their results via SMS. Simply type WAEC followed by your examination number, PIN, and the examination year, then send the message to the official WAEC SMS number supported by your mobile network. Standard SMS charges apply.

In Nigeria, universities typically require candidates to achieve at least five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, with a minimum credit grade of C6. If you suspect an error in your result, you can submit a complaint through WAEC's official channels or visit the nearest WAEC office for assistance with the result verification and review process.
