Government insists new jet can land in bad weather

The Irish Government has defended a €53 million new jet it purchased from France, despite reports it may struggle to land in poor weather. The Aircraft was ordered without key navigation equipment from Israel, as the Government has a policy against defense contracts with Israeli companies due to settlements in the West Bank. The Department of Defence has stated there are no limitations to the aircraft's operational capability and it can perform its full range of missions.

The new aircraft, a Dassault Falcon 6X, has been fitted with cream executive-style seating, polished wood paneling, cabin tables and sofa-style seating. It can fly up to 5,000 nautical miles and transport up to 14 passengers.
