Government doctor’s house in Vellore burgled

A burglary occurred at the residence of a government doctor in Vellore, resulting in the theft of valuable belongings. The targeted house, located near the Chennai - Bengaluru Highway (NH 48), belongs to M. Ambika, a 70-year-old resident. On the ground floor, Ambika resides, while her son, Purusothaman, rents the first floor. The incident came to light after Balaji, Purusothaman's tenant, informed her that the main door had been forcibly broken.

Upon returning home, Ambika discovered that her prized possessions, including 45 sovereigns of gold jewelry, various silver items, and ₹1.6 lakh in cash, had been stolen. The family promptly informed the local Sathuvachari police, who arrived with forensic experts to investigate the crime scene. Forensic teams collected fingerprints and gathered CCTV footage from the vicinity.

Superintendent of Police (SP) N.U. Sivaraman has initiated special teams to apprehend the burglars responsible for this theft.
