‘Gilmore Girls’ Documentary Coming to HBO Max With Lauren Graham, Amy Sherman-Palladino

Warner Bros. and HBO Max are set to release an untitled documentary commemorating the 25th anniversary of the beloved series "Gilmore Girls." The film is being produced by Warner Horizon Television and Sony Pictures Television in collaboration with This Machine Filmworks. Key creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, along with lead actress Lauren Graham, will provide exclusive interviews.

This marks the first authorized documentary detailing the series' impact, which transcended generations and expectations. Directed by Bonni Cohen, the documentary will also feature never-before-seen outtakes, behind-the-scenes footage, and script pages. "Gilmore Girls," known for its single mother Lorelai Gilmore and daughter Rory, aired on The WB and later The CW from 2000 to 2007.

The series later found renewed popularity on streaming platforms, leading to a revival miniseries titled "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" in 2016. Originally produced by Warner Bros. Television, the upcoming documentary will be executive produced by Mark Blatty, Jane Cha Cutler, and Trevor Smith, among others. A Kickstarter campaign raised nearly $300,000 from over 2,700 backers for the documentary, which has been renamed "Drink Coffee, Talk Fast."
