Ga Mantse pledges support for Ghana Medical Trust Fund to improve specialised healthcare access

His Royal Majesty Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, known as the Ga Mantse, has pledged his unwavering backing for the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF). He described the initiative as a pivotal national effort to broaden access to specialized healthcare and restore hope for countless Ghanaians battling chronic and life-threatening ailments.

The announcement came following a courtesy call by the GMTF's Administrator, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, accompanied by the Fund's Board Member Dr Adu Agyei Gyamfi and key management personnel, to the Ga Mantse's residence prior to this year's Homowo Festival. This visit marked a crucial step in the Fund's ongoing efforts to forge stronger relationships with traditional leaders, heighten public consciousness, and gather backing for its mission to guarantee that no Ghanaian is denied life-saving specialized treatment due to financial hardship.

During their meeting, the delegation provided the Ga Mantse with updates on the GMTF's advancements, its expanding impact on patients nationwide, and its future strategies aimed at enhancing access to specialized treatment while investing in healthcare infrastructure, equipment, specialist training, and research. In welcoming the delegation, the Ga Mantse lauded the establishment of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, hailing it as one of the most significant healthcare initiatives in recent years.

He emphasized that the wellbeing of citizens is paramount to national development and vowed to leverage the Ga State's influence to champion the Fund's objectives. The Ga Mantse further urged Ghanaians, private enterprises, and international partners to contribute to the initiative, enabling additional patients to receive the specialized medical care they require.
