Derry City part ways with manager Tiernan Lynch

Derry City Football Club has terminated its contract with manager Tiernan Lynch following a period of tension and public disagreement. The team currently sits in sixth place in the Premier Division, their season having begun with high hopes after significant transfers, notably the signing of former Republic of Ireland international James McClean.

McClean's relationship with Lynch has been strained, with the winger publicly expressing his dissatisfaction through social media. Lynch's final match in charge was a 1-1 draw against St Patrick's Athletic last Sunday. The Candystripes will host Sligo Rovers in a home game this Friday. Mark Connolly has been appointed as the interim manager.
